EU borders to remain shut for Albania

July 1 won’t see EU borders reopening for Albanian nationals.

The health situation in Albania hasn’t convinced the European Union to open the doors for the Albanians. After last night’s meeting, Albania wasn’t  included in the list of countries whose nationals can freely enter in the EU. The list is expected to become official tonight.

Tirana International Airport (TIA) issued a statement saying: “Despite high hopes for July 1, all Albanians with regular passports will not be able to move freely to Schengen destinations. After 2 weeks, this list will be reviewed.  So be careful and observe physical distance and hygiene,” TIA says.

The rules for those who have an EU passport and a residence permit in EU countries for free movement remain in force, it specifies.
