Commercial flights are an important indicator of tourism performance and population movement, both domestic and foreigners. Albania saw a significant increase in recent years, as the country became increasingly popular with foreign visitors.
According to data from the Eurostat, in October 2025 Albania recorded a 173% increase in commercial flights. This is compared to October of the pre-pandemic period. Albania achieved the highest growth in the region and throughout Europe.
Over the ten-month period, Albania lead the way in terms of the increasing commercial flights. A continuous increase was recorded for each month of 2025, even compared to last year. On average, during the first ten months of the year, the number of commercial flights increased by 155.7%, peaking in October.
At the regional level, Albania is followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an increase of 55.6%, followed by Serbia with 35.6%. Meanwhile, Montenegro and North Macedonia have recorded more moderate increases, 20.8% and 29%, respectively.
On a European scale, Iceland ranks after Albania, while Bosnia and Herzegovina takes third place. Increases in the number of flights have also been recorded in Slovenia and Poland.
Not all countries have seen an increase, with some reporting negative performances. Sweden and Latvia have the biggest declines, down -27%, while Finland -22.5%. The situation remains negative for Norway and Germany, where commercial flights have also declined.
