Coronavirus pandemic travel advisory: Albanians urged to cancel trips

Albania’s Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs urged citizens to cancel their trips abroad. Most of the flights to and from Tirana are cancelled, while other countries have banned foreign nationals entering their territory.

Land and sea borders have been also sealed.

The authorities appeal to Albanian citizens, outside the territory of the country, to contact the embassies and consulates through their emergency numbers.

In order to get consular services, Albanians abroad are advised to proceed online through the ministry’s website for online consular services or the government’s official portal, e-Albania.

For Albanian citizens stuck due to the coronavirus pandemic in the Schengen area countries, the ministry announced that some EU member states are waiving the 30-day stay rule in the area, so that the Albanian citizens aren’t punished for violating the rules.
