Emirates announced the appointment of Ahmad Tamim as the airline’s Country Manager for Greece and Albania, effective 1 November 2025. The appointment is part of Emirates’ strategy to further strengthen its presence in the region and grow its international network in response to growing travel demand.
The new Country Manager for Greece and Albania joined Emirates in 2013 through an internship at Emirates Airport Services. Since then, he has held a number of senior roles in markets around the world, including the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Ivory Coast and Benin, and most recently led Emirates’ operations in Cyprus as Country Manager. During his tenure in Cyprus, he played a key role in implementing Emirates’ commercial strategy, strengthening the airline’s presence in the local market, as well as expanding Cyprus’s strategic communications and connectivity with other markets, such as Malta.
Ahmad Tamim, Emirates Country Manager for Greece and Albania, said: “I am honoured to take on the role of Emirates Country Manager for Greece and Albania. These are markets with significant potential and significant growth prospects. I look forward to working closely with our partners, tourism authorities and local stakeholders to further strengthen Emirates’ presence and enhance travel options and services for our passengers.”
Albania, just like Greece, is gaining attention as a rapidly developing travel destination, with its untouched landscapes, Adriatic and Ionian coastline, and growing tourism infrastructure making it an emerging hotspot for international travelers.
Emirates operates a daily direct flight from Athens to Dubai on a four-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring the airline’s latest product, Premium Economy. Through its hub in Dubai, Emirates offers Greek travelers convenient access to an extensive global network covering more than 150 destinations across six continents, further enhancing Greece’s connectivity with the rest of the world. At the same time, the airline operates a daily direct flight from Athens to Newark in the United States, making it the ideal choice for travelers on this route and serving the large Greek diaspora living and working in the United States.
