Autumn is one of the seasons that foreign tourists choose to visit Albania. The number of foreign citizens who entered the Albanian territory during September 2025 is 1 million 259 thousand, or about 114 thousand visitors more than in 2024. According to the publication of INSTAT, this number has increased by 9.9%, compared to the same period of the previous year, 2024.
For the nine-month period January-September 2025, a total of 10.2 million foreign visitors entered the country, while for the same period last year, the number was 9.6 million.
According to INSTAT data for September 2025, 95% of foreign nationals entering our country are from the European region; tourists from Southern Europe account for the largest share with 69%. But tourists from the US, as well as those from Asia and the Pacific, have also increased.
The purpose of entry into the Albanian territory of foreign citizens, in 98% of cases, is for personal travel. But the greatest increase is in the entries of foreign citizens for business and professional purposes, whose number increased by 15.3% during September. Meanwhile, during the period January-September, a total of 189 thousand people arrived for business purposes, marking an increase of over 21.6%.
Foreigners coming for health reasons have recorded a significant decrease of over 41% during the first nine months of this year.
