This winter, Wizz Air is taking Albanian travelers even further. Wizz Air, the leading airline in Albania by market share, continues to expand its commitment to the country with the strongest winter schedule ever operated from Tirana International Airport.
The airline now connects the Albanian capital with five additional destinations launched for the Winter 2025 season: Malta, Larnaca, Málaga, Tenerife and Cologne, bringing even more choice and flexibility to Albanian travelers.
With this latest expansion, Wizz Air will offer over 2.6 million seats to and from Tirana this winter, reaffirming its leadership in the Albanian market and demonstrating the airline’s long-term commitment to local passengers and the country’s connectivity.
Among the new destinations, Tenerife and Larnaca stand out as sun-soaked escapes perfect for those seeking warm getaways during the colder months. Málaga enriches the network with another vibrant Spanish hotspot, while Malta offers a quick hop to the Mediterranean’s heart. All four of these routes are unique destinations exclusively served by Wizz Air from Tirana, underscoring the airline’s commitment to pioneering new connections for Albanian travellers. Cologne, renowned for its dynamic cultural scene and world-famous Christmas markets, completes the list.
This network growth further strengthens Wizz Air’s pioneering role in developing previously underserved and unserved markets across the Western Balkans. The airline continues to demonstrate true proactivity and leadership, investing in routes with untapped potential and creating new opportunities for Albanians to travel, explore, and build lasting memories.
In addition to the new routes, Wizz Air will keep connecting Tirana to many of its most popular destinations across Europe, including France (Lyon and Paris Beauvais), Germany (Dortmund and Memmingen), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia), and Italy (Ancona, Genoa, Naples, and Turin) – ensuring that this winter season will be the most dynamic and diverse in Wizz Air’s history in Albania.
Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “Every new route from Tirana represents more than just a flight — it’s a bridge between people, cultures, and experiences. Our expansion in Albania reflects both our confidence in this fast-growing market and our desire to keep offering travellers more options, better fares, and the chance to discover the best of Europe all year round. Let’s Wizz!”
The airline now operates 14 aircraft based in Tirana, flying to 56 destinations across 18 countries and offering over 7 million seats annually. Since launching operations in Albania in 2017, Wizz Air has carried almost 20 million passengers, creating direct jobs for more than 500 crew members and supporting more than 16 thousand in related industries.
From January to October 2025, the airline operated over 25,000 flights to and from Tirana with a load factor of 92%, carrying over 5,3 million, and a completion rate of 99.9%, one of the highest in the industry.
