Vlora International Airport (VIA) is set to become Albania’s newest gateway, welcoming visitors to the country’s southern coast.
Swiss airline Chair Airlines officially announced today that it will begin flights from Zurich (ZRH) to Vlora (VLO) starting June 26, 2026.
In April 2025, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) assigned the airport its official code, VLO, allowing travel agencies worldwide to sell tickets through global booking systems.
In May 2025, the airport successfully completed its first certification flight.
VIA will serve as a major entry point to southern Albania and a strategic hub for tourism. The airport will operate across three key sectors: civil aviation, aircraft maintenance, and full cargo services. The terminal will cover 22,000 square meters.
