Wizz Air expands its Tirana fleet and adds new routes

Tirana International Airport (TIA) announced today that Wizz Air will start flying to four new destinations: Stockholm Arlanda, Cologne, Billund, and Tenerife. The airline will also increase flight frequencies to Milan, Brussels, Turin, and Berlin.

Wizz Air will base its 14th Airbus A321neo aircraft in Tirana. This move adds four new routes and boosts flights on existing lines to Milan, Brussels, Turin, and Berlin, TIA said.

The expansion will provide over 500,000 additional seats annually. It will create more than 35 direct jobs and support over 350 more in aviation and related services.

With 57 destinations across 17 countries, Wizz Air strengthens Albania’s ties with Europe. It also cements TIA’s role as a key regional hub.

In July 2025, Albania recorded a 152% increase in flights compared to pre-pandemic levels. This growth made the country a leader in Europe and the Balkans.
